Testimonial

The Campbell Red Angus herd is run under typical commercial conditions. Robert and  family pay close attention to putting up quality home raised feedstuffs and source high quality purchased ingredients to the best of their ability and as the economics dictate. The nutrition program for Campbell Red Angus is based on not stepping over dollars to save dimes, healthy cows produce and perform.

Campbell’s were one of the first herds to utilize a Hubbard TRTM (Total Replacement Trace Mineral) Mineral Program which uses only organic (chelated) trace mineral ingredients at targeted levels for optimal performance. Alltech yeast technology (Integral A+) is incorporated in the winter feeding program. Bulls and Heifers receive a Hubbard TRTM pelleted Balancer Mineral supplement with Alltech yeast technology and ionophore to optimize performance and health.

The cow herd is on a year-round TRTM mineral program, free choice with macro minerals balanced for grazing pairs during the spring, summer, and fall and a direct fed balancer mineral fed through TMR utilizing corn silage, ground hay, and distiller’s grains when necessary to provide adequate protein. Attention is given to sampling all feed ingredients and balancing diets that meet the nutritional needs of the cow herd at various stages of production while being an economical feeding program.

Yearling bulls are developed on a modest growth diet, with attention paid to improving dry matter intake and feed utilization rather than continually increasing energy from grains and starch to drive performance. This approach leads to a well-developed future herd sire with longevity and athleticism built in. Replacement heifers are developed to achieve early puberty, optimize fertility, and develop a sound, functional female able to thrive under range conditions.

Buy with confidence, knowing your genetic investment was developed with your best interest in mind.
